To Secure Transactions. Responsibly.

Our Sustainability Statement

Every day, billions of people pay, connect, move, and access services. They don’t think about it. We make it possible.

Through cryptography, chip engineering, and advanced technologies, we secure the interactions people depend on—silently, reliably.

These transactions are not immaterial.

They require hundreds of precious raw materials, energy for our sites, and water to process the data they generate. Behind every transaction lies a physical reality—one the planet provides.

We are part of a larger balance. Acting within the planet’s limits is a condition for responsible innovation and resilience.

Technology is a tool. People are the point.

We stand for technologies that connect, not isolate. Protect, not exclude. Empower, not constrain.

We want to contribute to a trusted and inclusive digital economy.

TO SECURE TRANSACTIONS. RESPONSIBLY.

Our IMPACT 2030 Program

IMPACT 2030 is our new sustainability roadmap. Through a set of measurable objectives, it guides our efforts to create long-term value for society and the environment. Alongside climate action, responsible sourcing, and inclusion, the program reinforces our commitment to circularity and drives the sustainable transformation of our business.

Our Key Commitments for 2030

  • Reduce our carbon footprint: cut our direct greenhouse gas emissions by 40% and power 100% of our operations with renewable electricity.
  • Reduce waste: recycle at least 90% of waste generated across our manufacturing sites.
  • Design lower-carbon products: continuously increase the share of recycled and bio-based materials in our smart cards, versus 35% in 2025.
  • Protect water resources: ensure every site located in a water-stressed area has gone through a dedicated water risk assessment and has a reduction plan in place.
  • Engage our supply chain: reduce emissions from purchased goods and services by 15% through supplier decarbonization and responsible sourcing.
  • Advance gender equality: reach 30% women in management positions.
  • Invest in STEM education: ensure that 70% of underprivileged students benefiting from our Foundation STEM Program demonstrate significant progress in skills and confidence.
