IDEMIA unveils the European SpeechXRays’ funded research and innovation results

Developed by IDEMIA and academic and industrial partners, the new technology SpeechXRays provides an innovative and strong authentication technique based on two different and synchronized biometrics: face and speaker recognition.

SpeechXRaysThe SpeechXRays strong authentication technology does not require any specific terminal: as soon as a personal device, whether a smartphone, tablet, laptop or wearable, has a camera and a microphone, the consumer can benefit from SpeechXRays.

The SpeechXRays consortium was able to successfully prove the efficiency of the technology on 2,000 end users. Furthermore, the technology was challenged for its ability to resist to spoofing attacks by students from the University of Bucharest: none of them was able to spoof the system.

IDEMIA is proud to have delivered this result in collaboration with five industrial partners, Forthnet, Siveco, VoiceTrust, Realeyes and Tech Inspire, and four research and academic organizations, Forth Institute of Computer Science, IFIN-HH, Télécom SudParis and UCL.

The SpeechXRays project, that ended in April 2019, has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme, under grant agreement No 653586.

We are excited at the prospect of promoting this new technology. IDEMIA is proud to reveal this new process of authentication which is secure and seamless for consumers.
