Fingerprint capture is one of the most common uses of biometrics. It provides ID registration and fingerprint authentication for large-scale projects—whether governmental (population registration, elections, law enforcement, etc.) or, more recently, commercial (customer onboarding). IDEMIA, the world leader in the field, has developed the MTop tenprint scanner series for these purposes.

As governments look to harness the power of biometrics, a wide range of agencies require slap or rolled fingerprint images to register and enroll people and verify their identities. From civil applications —such as travel and ID document issuance, welfare benefits, and voter registration—to the booking stations of law enforcement officers, fingerprint authentication must be processed quickly and reliably. Certified IAFIS-IQS Appendix F1 by the FBI, the MTop tenprint scanner meets precisely those needs.

Highly robust and based on a technology that makes it possible to enroll people in harsh conditions, MTop guides the user with LEDs during the scanning process and provides operators with real-time checks on the quality of the fingerprints being captured. With IP542 protection (protection against dust and water), MTop has been used by IDEMIA clients across the globe to record the details of over two billion people to date.

When it comes to registering the population, governments can harness the benefits of the latest Thin-Film Transistor (TFT) technology with our live scan fingerprint device: MTop Slim. Only one-inch thick, weighing just 400 grams, and USB-powered, MTop Slim sets new standards for fingerprint scanner in terms of compactness and efficiency. The combination of a thin, modern design and a high-quality sensor makes the device easier to use. Designed to accommodate either slap or rolled acquisition, MTop Slim fingerprint scanner provides quality indicators to ensure that usable data is collected.

From anywhere, law enforcement officers can use MTop Mobile. With IP65 protection, MTop Mobile provides high-quality biometric capture, time-saving identity verification and enrollment, and speeds up investigations. Using its USB-C connector, the device can be plugged into a laptop, PC, or Android smartphone. With this mobile fingerprint scanner, law enforcement agents can verify the identity of persons of interest quickly and easily in the field.

Weighting only 350 grams, MTop Mobile can capture palm prints in addition to slap and rolled prints. Bringing together IDEMIA’s finest technology, MTop Mobile is accelerating law enforcement agencies’ transition toward a paperless fingerprint authentication and identification system.
