IDEMIA unveils MorphoTablet 2i at ID4Africa, the first all-in-one mobile biometric terminal

IDEMIA, the global leader in Augmented Identity today announces the launch of MorphoTabletTM 2i by IDEMIA, the first mobile biometric terminal supporting fingerprint, face and iris.

With the addition of iris capture capabilities to the field-proven MorphoTabletTM 2, this new product provides a convenient, reliable and universal solution on top of fingerprint and facial recognition to achieve even greater performance. Iris recognition may also be used as a third layer of biometric verification, for the most demanding security environments.

Thanks to its very intuitive interface and ergonomics, the MorphoTabletTM 2i allows operators in the field to capture both irises simultaneously. An infrared camera within the tablet, along with two infrared LEDs to provide good and homogeneous lighting around the iris, ensures a perfect image capture in about 5 seconds for enrolment, and only 1 second for identification or authentication. MorphoTablet™ 2i draws on IDEMIA’s leadership in iris recognition algorithms, ranked #1 for their accuracy and speed (by NIST – IREX IV).

The speed and user-friendliness of the new iris functionality of the MorphoTabletTM 2i by IDEMIA makes it ideal for large-scale programs requiring to massively enroll, authenticate and identify people (creation of a population registry, identity verification for elections,…) but also for eKYC applications for financial institutions or mobile network operators. It may also provide an efficient means for mobile security controls in an airport, for instance at the boarding or disembarking of a sensitive flight.

Visitors to ID4Africa in Abuja, Nigeria (24-26 April 2018) will have the opportunity to discover this newest addition to the MorphoTabletTM range at IDEMIA booth #H1.
