Showcasing eSIM-Enabled Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) with Vantiva

Joint Network X Paris demo shows how IST’s automated eSIM orchestration in CPE streamlines deployments and elevates customer experience.

At Network X, Paris, IDEMIA Secure Transactions (IST) and Vantiva jointly demonstrated how IST’s eSIM orchestration solutions can be integrated into Consumer Premises Equipment (CPE) to enable Fixed Wireless Access (FWA). The scenario highlights how Vantiva’s Condor 5G CPE instantly connects to the network from the moment it is powered on and adapts the connectivity throughout its lifecycle.

The live demonstration, available at IST’s Experience Center in early 2026, shows how operators and MNOs can streamline deployments, reduce operational overhead, and improve customer experience through IST’s eSIM and remote provisioning solutions.

Use Case 1: Plug-and-Play Connectivity

The first demonstration focuses on a streamlined onboarding process with plug-and-play connectivity for Vantiva’s CPE.

  • The CPE automatically connects using IST’s eSIM orchestration platform
  • The profile download process is displayed on the demo screen, the system initiates the download of the profile to confirm communication between the CPE and the network
  • The MNO profile download is fully automated without requiring a smartphone app, manual configuration, or customer support intervention

Use Case 2: Remote Connectivity Management

The second scenario demonstrates how devices can evolve dynamically throughout their lifecycle using IST’s remote SIM provisioning platform. When a new profile is downloaded and activated in the back end, the graphical user interface (GUI) instantly updates to display the new IMSI and operator, making the change seamless for the end user. This real-time, over-the-air profile update requires no physical intervention, underscoring the value of IST’s eSIM solution across a wide range of connectivity scenarios:

  • Profile update: Remote connectivity management allows CPE devices to automatically transition from 4G to 5G profiles when networks evolve, extending device lifecycles.
  • Business model flexibility: Operators can remotely switch device profiles between residential and business services, adapting offerings without redesigning hardware.
  • Intra-group network switch: Profiles can be remotely migrated across networks (PLMNs) within an operator group to optimize coverage, performance, and mobility, ensuring consistent user experience.
  • Circular economy enablement: devices can be remotely reset and provisioned with new profiles at the end of subscription, enabling refurbishment and redeployment to support sustainability goals.

These scenarios align with GSMA specifications for eSIM Remote SIM Provisioning (RSP), particularly consumer and IoT specs such as SGP.22 (consumer) and SGP.32 (IoT) respectively.

Meeting rising market demands

IST’s solution and Vantiva’s CPE collaboration responds to increasing demand from MNOs and OEMs for single global SKUs, lightweight onboarding, and flexible provisioning across device lifecycles. Regulators and consumers are raising expectations for better service quality and sustainability, while network rollouts and shifting PLMN coverage require devices that can connect instantly and adapt to networks.

As FWA becomes a core strategy for delivering high-speed broadband, especially in underserved or rural regions, both OEMs and MNOs need simple, reliable ways to provision connectivity without the costs or delays of physical SIMs or manual intervention. This solution accelerates internet deployment worldwide.
